What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer when you visit a website. This text file stores information can be accessed through the web page. Some cookies are necessary for the page to work properly. They are the username in the same secure way as for the language settings. Each time you visit a website again.

How can you disable cookies?

You can easily adjust your browser settings to disable all cookies.


  1. 1. Open Firefox
  2. 2. Press the „old“ key on your keyboard.
  3. 3. Select „Menu“ and then „Options“ in your toolbar.
  4. 4. Select the tab „Privacy“.
  5. 5. For Firefox, select a history: „Create custom settings“.
  6. 6. Remove the „accept cookies“ flag and save your settings.

Internet Explorer:

  1. 1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. 2. Click on the „Tools“ button and then on „Internet Options“.
  3. 3. Click the „Privacy“ tab.
  4. 4. In the „Cookies“ tab, you can remove the marker and save your settings.

Google Chrome:

  1. 1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. 2. Select „Settings“.
  3. 3. Click on „Show advanced settings“.
  4. 4. In the „Privacy“ tab, click on „Content Settings“
  5. 5. In the „Cookies“ section, you can disable them and save your settings.

  2. 2. Select „Settings“ in the function list and click on „Privacy“.
  3. 3. Under „Accept cookies“ you can specify if and when Safari should accept cookies from websites. For more information, click Help (?).
  4. 4. If you would like to know more about the cookies that are stored on your computer, click on „Show cookies“.
